  * [ ] If this will be a work-focused party, decide on a task and assign a [Workstation Director](/other/archived-pages/social-and-community-events-guide/event-role-checklists/workstation-director.md). Here are some [ideas for work event tasks](/other/archived-pages/social-and-community-events-guide/running-the-event.md)
  * [ ] Do you want the event to include an activity, training, or programming of some kind? (e.g. NVC practice, book swap, guest speaker, party games)
* [ ] **Find people to fulfill the necessary** [**event roles**](/other/archived-pages/social-and-community-events-guide/event-role-checklists.md), and send them the checklist for their role(s)
  * [ ] Add the roles to the [Volunteer Sign-Up sheet](https://volunteersignup.org/LBJQB) and reach out to people who sign up
  * [ ] Send the link via a Slack message to encourage people to sign up
  * [ ] If you’re having trouble filling event roles, you can check out [this page](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dkczCcc1RuJJdLLH980SfCTwNgaZpG3HDuCOAZeCR6U/edit#gid=1077717664) and contact people listed as ‘interested in helping’, or have taken on these roles in the past

## Event Marketing Checklist for Organizers

A checklist of recommended ways to spread the word about the upcoming event to maximize attendance and attract new campaigners. It’s good to get rolling on these about a week before the event.

* [ ] **Add the event to the** [**Volunteer Sign-Up sheet** ](https://volunteersignup.org/LBJQB)(If you’ve never done this before, instructions on how to log in and create the event can be found [here](https://handbook.proanimal.org/organizing-guides/shift-captain-guide/scheduling-your-shift))
  * [ ] Be sure to add asterisks to distinguish the social event from canvassing shifts (\*\*\**Campaign Social Event*\*\*\*)
  * [ ] Add the location in the title
* [ ] **Create an invite graphic that includes the basic information**. You can start with one of [these templates](https://www.canva.com/design/DAFo6VdAH2c/8eDVZIrtSdTCW2ZLaHNEvQ/edit) (ask a PAF partner to share if you don’t have access) and be sure to include:
  * [ ] Event title
  * [ ] Location
  * [ ] Day & time (drop-in)
  * [ ] Basic details on the purpose of the event
  * [ ] Free vegan dinner will be provided
  * [ ] Campaign branding
* [ ] **Send a Slack message in #fun-n-socials** that includes the event graphic and basic information
  * [ ] Hyperlink to the [Volunteer Sign-Up sheet ](https://volunteersignup.org/LBJQB)so people can easily RSVP
* [ ] **Promote the event on social media** if you have access to PAF’s accounts, otherwise share your invite graphic with Phoenix to post for you
  * [ ] Create an event page on Facebook (Events > + Create new event)
  * [ ] Share or request to share the graphic on PAF’s Instagram (ask any of the PAF team)
* [ ] **Announce the event in an email to all volunteers**
  * [ ] If you aren’t set up to be able to do this, ask your local campaign coordinator to set you up or send the emails themselves
* [ ] **Promote the event via other online activist spaces** to attract new attendees
  * [ ] Post about the event in Vegan Community Events on Signal
  * [ ] Post the event on [Connect For Animals](https://connectforanimals.com/)
* [ ] **Remind Activist Stewards to send personalized invites** to their assigned campaigners the night before or morning of the event
