Promote the event using the event marketing checklist below to guide you
Make sure you have a confirmed event location first
Post in any Slack carpooling channels several days in advance to help form a plan for people to get there
Work with others to enforce PAF’s rules & policies during the event
Event Marketing Checklist for Organizers
A checklist of recommended ways to spread the word about the upcoming event to maximize attendance and attract new campaigners. It’s good to get rolling on these about a week before the event.
Add the event to the Volunteer Sign-Up sheet (If you’ve never done this before, instructions on how to log in and create the event can be found here)
Be sure to add asterisks to distinguish the social event from canvassing shifts (***Campaign Social Event***)
Add the location in the title
Create an invite graphic that includes the basic information. You can start with one of these templates (ask a PAF partner to share if you don’t have access) and be sure to include:
Event title
Location
Day & time (drop-in)
Basic details on the purpose of the event
Free vegan dinner will be provided
Campaign branding
Send a Slack message in #fun-n-socials that includes the event graphic and basic information
Hyperlink to the Volunteer Sign-Up sheet so people can easily RSVP
Promote the event on social media if you have access to PAF’s accounts, otherwise share your invite graphic with Phoenix to post for you
Create an event page on Facebook (Events > + Create new event)
Share or request to share the graphic on PAF’s Instagram (ask any of the PAF team)
Announce the event in an email to all volunteers
If you aren’t set up to be able to do this, ask your local campaign coordinator to set you up or send the emails themselves
Promote the event via other online activist spaces to attract new attendees
Post about the event in Vegan Community Events on Signal
Post the event on Connect For Animals
Remind Activist Stewards to send personalized invites to their assigned campaigners the night before or morning of the event
